An Evaluation of Utah Medicaid Applied Behavior Analysis Services

The Utah Office of Inspector General of Medicaid Services (UOIG) initiated this evaluation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services used in the treatment of ASD due to increased concerns regarding billing patterns and improper payments in
several other states. ABA treatment plans are designed by a qualified healthcare provider (QHP) and/or a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and delivered by a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), Behavior Analyst in Training (BAIT) or a certified Behavior Technician (BT)
